A Chicago Winery Wedding
Spring came early for Kate and Simon’s wedding in mid-March—and it couldn’t have been more perfect. On an unseasonably warm day in Chicago, this fun-loving couple tied the knot surrounded by family, friends, live music, and a whole lot of happy tears. From the stunning skyline views at the Loews Hotel to a party-filled night at the brand-new Chicago Winery, this wedding had all the right ingredients for a film-worthy celebration.
Bride Prep at Loews Chicago Hotel
The day began at the Loews Hotel (455 N. Park Dr, Chicago, IL 60611), where Kate got ready in a suite filled with natural light and breathtaking views of downtown Chicago. As wedding videographers, we love when there are big windows and genuine moments, and this space delivered both. Kate shared an emotional first look with her brothers and dad—cue the tissues—and a few quiet, candid moments with her mom as she slipped into her dress.
First Look with a View
Still inside the Loews Hotel, Kate and Simon met for their first look next to a massive window with soft light pouring in. These are the kinds of heartfelt, unscripted moments that make wedding videos unforgettable. Simon’s reaction? Let’s just say: if you don’t believe in love, watch the full video and think again.
Trolley Rides, City Sips, and Ceremony at Chicago Winery
After a quick celebratory drink and a classic Chicago trolley ride around the city, the wedding party made their way to Chicago Winery, one of the city's most stunning new wedding venues. This place is a dream for any videographer: excellent lighting, modern-yet-romantic decor, and backdrops that do half the work for us.
Big shoutouts to:
Florist: Thistle and Plume – for the gorgeous florals that added vibrant texture and elegance to every frame
Planner: Claire at Marryment – for pulling everything together seamlessly
Kate and Simon wrote their own vows—full of sweet origin story nods, personal jokes, and of course, some tears. This is what modern wedding storytelling is all about.
A Celebration with Heart (and Saxophone)
After the vows, the night turned into one big joyful party. Kate’s dad even joined the spotlight by playing guitar during their first dance (we’re not crying, you are). Then DJ Lee Michaels teamed up with live saxophonist Derrick Tate, who absolutely brought the house down. It was impossible not to dance, and let’s just say we almost regretted quitting sax in high school.

A Traditional Lebanese Dance to Remember
One of the absolute highlights of the night? A traditional Lebanese wedding dance that lit up the room. It's the kind of cultural moment you can’t describe properly—you have to see it. Thankfully, we caught every second on film.
Why We Loved Filming Kate and Simon’s Chicago Wedding
We believe weddings should be a true reflection of your personality, your family, and your vibe. Kate and Simon’s big day had all of that: laughter, emotion, live music, and a whole lot of love. Plus, any chance we get to shoot at venues like Loews Hotel and Chicago Winery, we’re in.
