There was a great big hora on the dance floor for Marissa and Josh’s Bottom Lounge Wedding in Chicago IL!

It’s evident that Marisa and Josh share a tender kind of love. The kind of love filled with support, a listening ear, and a hand to hold when you need it the most. What’s amazing about the kind of love they share, is their friends and family got to witness it grow over the years. Culminating in their epic Bottom Lounge Wedding!

Marisa and Josh wanted to start off the day by sharing a first look before meeting under the chuppah. We always *highly recommend* a first look on your wedding day, and for a few good reasons. Reason number one, you get to shake off some of those wedding day nerves away from the onlooking eyes of your guests. Reason number two, it gives you a few private moments alone with your spouse (and of course your Chicago wedding videography team!).

But the last big reason, and probably the biggest, for having a first look is this! Most couples think having a first look will take away from the emotion and experience of seeing each other for the first time “down the aisle”. This is where we wish there was a great big buzzer to hit because that couldn’t be further from the truth. In fact, shaking off those nerves during your first look (see reason number one above!) allows you to be more present when meeting down the aisle. With the first look behind you, you have the ability to focus on the moment and let the emotion of what you are about to embark on wash over you. Oftentimes leading to a more emotional meet down the aisle. Have we convinced you to have a first look yet?! By the way, you’ll get to see Marisa and Josh’s first look, in the video below.

Once the bride and groom shared their private moment, it was time to get them married! A traditional Jewish wedding ceremony was planned at Nobu Hotel, chuppah and all. Josh came down the aisle first, escorted by his parents, and then it was Marisa’s turn. After making her way to Josh, they performed the tradition of 7 circles. A ritual symbolizing the commitment they are about to make to each other, through their faith. They recited personal vows and closed with “I am my beloveds and my beloved is mine”. The air filled with the booming sound of “Mazel Tov” from their guests and Marisa and Josh smashed the glass at the end of their ceremony!

There’s nothing we love more than a good party, so we were ready to head to the wedding reception at Bottom Lounge in Chicago IL! With rows of twinkle lights and a disco ball illuminating the dance floor, it was time for the hora. Marisa and Josh were hoisted in the air as their guests cheered and danced around them. It was an epic way to open up the dance floor and get the party rockin’ for the rest of the night! You can see all the details from Marisa and Josh’s Bottom Lounge Wedding, in the video below.
